Job Description - Nurse Unit Manager




Are you an experienced RN seeking an exceptional opportunity to advance your career? Join the team of a Private Hospital situated in the vibrant Darwin region known for its tropical climate, stunning sunsets, and relaxed lifestyle.







We're looking for a dynamic Registered Nurse with strong leadership and clinical capabilities to join the management cohort.







Key Responsibilities:







  • Lead and guide the ward/unit in alignment with the hospital's strategic and operational objectives.

  • Provide operational oversight to ensure efficient unit management and delivery of evidence-based nursing care.

  • Manage resources effectively, including human, financial, and material assets, while upholding high levels of customer service.

  • Provide direct patient care as necessary, offering mentorship to junior staff.






Requirements




  • AHPRA Registration

  • Working with Children check

  • Prior experience at a Nurse Unit Manager level or equivalent

  • Acute care experience

  • Relevant degree in nursing specialty

  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Commitment to personal and team development

  • Dedication to delivering high-quality clinical and customer-centric care

  • Proficiency in MS Office and database management

  • Ability to work effectively within a team and manage time efficiently

  • Demonstrated knowledge in labor management and HR practices




Desirable Criteria:







Management degree or working towards one



Benefits




  • Salary is in accordance with the current Private Hospital Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement (2021-2024), ranging from $57.97 to $62.28 per hour.
