Occupational Hygiene Consultant - Urgent Role

Established for over 50 years, Clean Air Technologies is a respected leader in the supply of scientific consulting, technologies and services to commercial, government, health care and industrial facilities across Australia. The company has established a new multi disciplinary Scientific Consulting division and is seeking to fill this important role with an experienced Occupational Hygiene Consultant.    

About the role

This is an opportunity for an experienced Occupational Hygienist to manage programmed and reactive jobs with plenty of variety and interesting work across major building sites in NSW and interstate. You will have responsibility for all occupational hygiene matters including hazardous substances, dusts, workplace ventilation, air quality and noise. 

Skills and experience

Ideally you will have experience with a variety of site based work that includes: 

• Preparation and reviewing of technical reports.
• Mycological inspections, Risk Assessments and Post Remediation Verification Assessments.
• Conducting Indoor Air Quality Assessments.
• Conducting sampling of dusts and hazardous materials such as silica, heavy metals, welding fumes and diesel particulate matter.
• Conducting noise surveys.
• Conduct Asbestos surveys, air monitoring, clearances and project management. 
• Implement and maintain Occupational Hygiene processes and procedures in line with the regulatory and company requirements.
• Provide specialist advice and support to key stakeholders on health and hygiene concerns. This may include hazard identification, investigations, hazard evaluation and control strategies.
• Complying with and conducting equipment calibration requirements.

The requirements essential to your success in this role:

• A Degree qualification in Occupational Hygiene or related Science.
• Professional grade membership with the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists
• National Police Clearance.
• Full Australian driving license
• Present a professional image to clients, subcontractors and team members.
• Some local experience.
• Enthusiastic can-do outlook.
• Ability to work effectively alone as well as engage and contribute in a team environment.
