Onsite Computer Repair Technician - Get Hired Fast

About the Role

Affordable Geeks is looking for an Onsite Computer Repair Technician to join our growing team. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred. Professional computer troubleshooting skills or experience repairing computers is essential.

Hospitality or other customer service driven industries that show good communication skills is also beneficial.

The role requires a well organised individual with good communication skills to travel around the Gold Coast and fix problems onsite that may include software, hardware and networking issues.

The successful applicant will also need to be able to work unsupervised and be motivated to work longer hours when required. Technical training is provided, but the successful applicant will need to bring their own problem solving skills and self motivation to this role.

The position is a contracted full time role.

Possible Skills for Successful Applicant

1. Ability to diagnose and repair any hardware faults on;

• PC Desktops & Laptops,
• All-In-One PC's,
• iMac and MacBook Laptops

2. Ability to diagnose and repair any software issues including;

• Viruses, Spyware and Malware
• Microsoft Office especially Outlook
• MYOB & Quicken products
• Backup Systems
• Windows XP to Windows 10
• MAC OSX

3. Networking diagnostics and repairs including;

• Diagnosis of internet connectivity issues
• Setup of Modem/Router
• Setup of Wifi Extenders
• Setup of Network Printers
• Setup of Shared Folders & Mapped Drives

4. Customer Service Skills are also a critical part of this role. The successful applicant must;

• Have great communication skills
• Be able to avoid using jargon when speaking with clients
• Be comfortable around people and enjoy the company of others.

5. Organisational Skills are also key for any successful applicant and you must be able to;

• Follow policies and procedures
• Manage bookings & meetings in a punctual manner
• Manage ongoing tasks and track their progress daily.

Duties & Responsibilities

The following is a brief outline on some of the tasks you may need to complete on a day to day basis:

• Virus, Spyware, Malware Removal
• Format Reinstall of Windows & MAC OSX computers.
• System Restores of Windows and MAC OSX computers.
• Setup of Network Printers & Scanners
• Setup of Shared Media & Mapped Drives
• Setup of Modem Equipment including Wi-fi Routers
• Downgrading to Windows 10, 8.1 and Windows 7.
• Hardware Testing of Power Supply, RAM, HDD & CPU
• Upgrading of Hardware on Desktop PC and Laptops
• Setup of Office 365, Email configuration and testing
• General troubleshooting of Microsoft Office products
• General troubleshooting of Bookkeeping products
• Low level Data recovery
• Replacement of Laptop Parts
• Setting up local and Cloud Backup Solutions
• Setting up IMAP emails on Windows, Android and MAC devices

We operate from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. 10am to 2pm Saturday (optional).
