Operations Manager

Viking Rentals is a leading national hire and service business specialising in the hiring and servicing of portable toilet facilities to the residential construction industry. We also provide ancillary hire products such as temporary fencing.

We are looking for a hands on Operations Manager to join our Brisbane head office team. This position will be based in Acacia Ridge overseeing our national driver and truck fleet of 20 vehicles.

Key role responsibilities include:

• Oversee the operational team of service and delivery drivers and yard cleaning and maintenance staff
• Driver recruitment including on-boarding and training
• Ensuring the driver team meet and exceed service standards and customer expectations
• Overseeing and managing truck servicing and maintenance with mechanics
• Overseeing and managing consumables, hire assets, repair and yard organisation
• Ensuring our drivers have everything required to fulfill their role as their primary contact point
• Day to day problem solving of driver tasks and issues as they arise
• Assist, review and provide feedback to the scheduling team with job allocations and oversee route and schedule efficiency
• Providing key recommendations and implementation on operational improvements
• Promoting a safe workplace in line with company policy and safety legislation

The successful candidate will possess:

• Organised and systematic approach to work
• Experience in operations, preferably in road transport
• Knowledge and experience with heavy vehicles to carry out small repairs and liaise with external mechanics  
• Reliable, self-motivated and ability to work autonomously
• Competency with general IT systems 
• Experience in a similar role an advantage
