Job Description - Operations Manager

Aspley Australian Football & Sporting Club (Aspley Hornets) in Carseldine is looking for a strong and effective Operations Manager. A leader who can support, motivate, and effectively manage our team while meeting the growing needs and high service standards set by the Club. 

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful applicant will be a hands-on leader who will ensure the smooth and efficient running of all operating departments within the Club. Detail-oriented, focused on high level service standards and member experience. 

Key responsibilities include; 

  • Supervision of Departmental and Duty Managers to ensure efficient and effective management.
  • Keep abreast of all compliance changes which may affect the operations of the Club
  • Reports to the General Manager on Organisational activities; Wage budget variance and control, Revenue, profit & loss for all operational outlets, Unusual activities/occurrences 
  • Work alongside Human Resources with; Team morale, Performance management and appraisals, Training and development, Policy and procedure documentation and development
  • Understand and maintain legislative requirements
  • Managing internal maintenance of equipment and facilities

What we are looking for in the right person:

  • Current RSA, RSG, RMLV, First Aid Certificate 
  • Advanced Diploma in Hospitality (Management) 
  • 3-4 years experience as Duty Manager or higher management role in the Hospitality Industry
  • Passion for gaming and hands on experience 
  • A superior communicator who will create an inclusive, imaginative, and inspiring environment which both team members and customers alike will benefit from
  • A good listener who understands the importance of encouraging feedback to develop a team and optimise performance
  • Strong organisational skills to ensure a sustainable & profitable business
  • Confidence to present solutions and continuous improvement initiatives to grow all areas of the Club
  • Uncompromising in the pursuit of high levels of customer satisfaction 
  • Strong and decisive leadership skills with the ability to build effective and engaged team.
  • Must be available nights and weekends.
