Join the Clinical Information Systems Support team as an Operations Manager AO8 to manage and lead a multidisciplinary team in the daily operations, support and implementation of information and technology service delivery to achieve agreed objectives in relation to the enterprise laboratory information system and health systems and solutions supported by Clinical Information Systems Support Unit (CISSU) for Queensland Health.
This role will provide leadership in the implementation and utilisation of an Information Technology (IT) industry standard frameworks to manage the day-to-day operations of the supported Clinical Information Systems.
Other key responsibilities will include:
- Plan, develop, implement, manage and continually improve processes, procedures, service standards and tools for the efficient and effective delivery of services to clients.
- Report on performance indicators to measure system performance to provide information to clients and sponsors and to assist in the management of vendor agreements.
- Manage the implementation, development, and installation of hardware services, including servers, scanners, and analysers across the supported clinical systems.
- Liaise with external service providers to ensure systems and processes are maintained to provide precise and timely clinical information which contribute directly to patient care and clinical decision making.
- Collaborate with client managers to ensure work practice and software changes are effectively implemented to maximise workflow efficiencies.

- Demonstrated highly developed ability in the management and technical leadership of a team within an IT environment servicing a large and complex application portfolio to ensure strategic and operational performance targets are met.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in analysis of organisational, technical and application problems, and the documentation and development of associated strategies for resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, negotiate and liaise with vendor to ensure client outcomes are met.
- Demonstrated high-level business and operational management skills and experience in working with clients to implement and manage organisational change, organisational effectiveness and best practise initiatives at both strategic and operational levels.
- Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor teams of strategic and operational ICT professionals in line with contemporary human resource management practices to achieve defined service levels in the integrated operation of complex enterprise information services

- The incumbent of this position will be required to be a point of escalation out of hours for incident management
