Operations Manager (Project Logistics)

Job Purpose

DP World is seeking an experienced Operations Manager (Project Logistics) to join our Global Freight team, based at Port of Brisbane. In this role, you will lead Project Logistics operations, overseeing the end-to-end delivery of complex international freight forwarding projects.

Working closely with customers, internal teams, vendors and service providers, you will manage project cargo movements across freight forwarding, customs clearance, transport, warehousing and final delivery. Additionally, you will drive operational excellence, manage risk and financial performance while maintaining strong customer and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee Project Logistics operations, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery of project cargo solutions

• Manage the end-to-end execution of project shipments, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, transport, warehousing and final delivery

• Monitor operational performance, shipment milestones, risks and costs, implementing corrective actions to maintain service and financial performance

• Manage job profitability, WIP, accruals, invoicing and operational costs to support strong financial outcomes

• Lead and develop the Project Logistics team while managing service providers and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders

• Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence and business growth by identifying opportunities to improve customer outcomes and service quality

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• 10+ year’s experience in international freight forwarding, logistics or project logistics, including complex project cargo, heavy-lift and/or end-to-end logistics solutions

• 5+ year’s experience leading high-performing operational teams, with strong customer, stakeholder and vendor management skills

• Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations, the Australian logistics market, international trade, customs requirements and Incoterms

• Strong financial acumen, including job profitability, WIP, accruals and cost management

• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and manage competing operational priorities
