About the role:

Our partner has an exciting opportunity for a Liquid Plant Operator based in Brooklyn, Victoria. Working in a close-knit, motivated team, you’ll operate equipment efficiently, and provide a range of support services to reach operational goals. In your day-to-day activities, you’ll operate the plant and equipment for the receipt, screening, testing and unloading of industrial liquid Waste, while complying with, and promoting, Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies and Site Safe Operating Procedures. And in the long run, you’ll contribute to a sustainable future for Australia.

Reporting to the Supervisor, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Monitor the arrival of industrial liquid at the plant
• Conduct screening, testing and unloading of industrial liquid waste in accordance with VES policy and procedure
• Highlight any irregularities and seek clarification from Supervisor where appropriate
• Undertake treatment of industrial liquid
• Ensure Supervisor is kept informed of issues
• Monitor the condition of materials and equipment to ensure they are ready for safe use

Skills and experience required:

• Previous experience in the waste industry
• Certificate II in Waste Management (desirable)
• Dangerous Goods License (desirable)
• Positive Attitude and Team player
• Good planning and organisational skills

Reporting to the Senior Operations Planner, you’ll work closely with a small team, as well as various suppliers and contractors. And you’ll learn from them, as much as they learn from you.

In addition to operating the plant, you’ll play a key role in measuring and reporting the facility’s output, maintaining a robust safety culture and identifying more efficient ways of working that don’t compromise safety or quality.

In this role, you’ll be trained across a number of concrete skills for the job in hand. Many of our team leads have continued to progress their career with us, moving into management positions.
