Job Description:
Due to the business's growth, a fantastic opportunity exists for a highly motivated, personable team player who enjoys working in a growing Ophthalmic practice.
We have two locations in Brisbane (Auchenflower and Upper Mt Gravatt) and are looking for the right person to join our team as a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician. This role will be full-time, 9 days a fortnight, Monday - Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, working between locations.
Remuneration for the role will depend on experience and qualifications but is well above the award wage.

About Us
OKKO Eye Specialist Centre is an Ophthalmic practice that provides the best possible eye health and vision outcomes. Our quality eye care is delivered with a warm, personal approach. We pride ourselves on providing the care our patients deserve.
Your duties will include:
- Setting up consult rooms at the beginning of each day.
- Reviewing patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
- Taking patient history and performing testing where required (refractions, intraocular pressures, A-scan, OCT, topography, fields test etc.)
- Acting as a scribe while the Ophthalmologist examines the patient, entering accurate data into electronic medical records, and checking clinical correspondence before issue.
- Filling consult rooms with patients and overseeing/managing patient flow.
- Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications under the direction of the ophthalmologist.
- Assisting with in-room procedures, lasers, and injections, ensuring informed consent is obtained.
- Setting up and cleaning up following in-room procedures.
- Assisting with patient education and answering clinical queries they may have.
- Assisting with triaging patient correspondence and/or referrals.
- Maintaining stock levels, cleanliness, and orderliness of consult rooms during the day.
- Sterilising of equipment as required.
- Complying with all practice procedures and protocols, including infection control.
- Complying with all state and federal regulations.

Optometry or Orthoptist qualifications or experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician is desirable. Full training will be provided regardless of your background.
