Hays has partnered with a leading organisation seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect to support a major cloud transformation program.

Your new role
This role leads the establishment and growth of a new Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) capability within a large organisation. As the architect responsible for owning this emerging practice, you will define the cloud vision, set architectural standards, and guide the adoption of secure, scalable, and resilient OCI services across the organisation. You'll champion best-practice cloud design, mentor engineering teams, and work closely with senior stakeholders to shape modern, cloud-driven outcomes. This is a pivotal leadership position-driving technical direction, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and building a capability that will support the agency's digital transformation for years to come.

Key Criteria -
- Lead the design and delivery of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure architecture across multiple workstreams- Develop high-level and detailed solution architecture artefacts
- Provide expertise across OCI networking, compute, storage, identity, security, and automation
- Ensure architectural alignment with organisational standards and cloud strategy
- Collaborate with project and operations teams to support cloud migration and modernisation initiatives
- Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and optimisation recommendations
- Contribute to cloud governance, standards, and reusable patterns
What you'll need to succeed
- Advanced expertise in OCI services including compute, networking, storage, IAM, and database technologies.- Strong cloud architecture skills with experience designing secure, scalable, highly available multi-region solutions.
- Deep understanding of cloud security and governance including IAM, encryption, compliance frameworks, and policy design.
- Hybrid and cloud networking proficiency covering VCN design, routing, load balancing, VPN/FastConnect, and security controls.
- Proven migration and modernisation experience using OCI migration tools and application refactoring approaches.
- Automation and DevOps capability with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, documentation, communication, and leadership skills.
