Job Description - OSHC Director - Award Level 3 - Positive Work Culture

We are on the lookout for a motivated OSHC Director - Award Level 3 to join our multidisciplinary team at Doody and Associates Workforce Management Services in Kilkenny, Adelaide SA.

OSHC Director - Award Level 3

Ongoing Full Time (38 hours per week)

Kilkenny Primary School Out of School Hours Care is a 60-place service providing before school and after school care and Vacation Care. We are currently seeking to increase our number of approved places.

Our service aims to provide a stimulating, creative, safe, and caring environment with a learning program that is exciting and fun. Children learning through play is a primary aim of our service. Whilst children are guided and supported, we also want them to use their own initiative and imagination, as this promotes positive self-esteem, confidence and respect for themselves and others.

About the Service:

  • The Kilkenny OSHC team are an experienced OSHC team who are connected with children at school and in OSHC. Established positive relationships with children, families and wider community. 
  • An extensive outdoor learning environment, with access to genuine nature play areas for nature-based learning, exploration and problem solving. 
  • Strong support and relationships with school staff, school leadership and Governing Council

As Director, you are expected to oversee the operation of the service, and to lead, guide, and support the team to provide high quality early childhood education and care to children. You will be supported by an Assistant Director and OSHC Administrative Officer.

Expectations include:

  • Developing relationships that support and partner with families and Governing Council.
  • Ensuring the service is compliant with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and other relevant legislation.
  • Ensuring South Australian Standards for OSHC are met as minimum operational standards within the service
  • Implementing appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring the service’s Quality Improvement Plan is implemented and that the service works towards exceeding the National Quality Standard for Early Education and Care; and
  • Ensuring that the service and staff act on Kilkenny Primary School’s commitment to continuous improvement, wherever possible.

The successful candidates will hold and be able to maintain:

  • A relevant Degree or a 3- or 4-years Early Childhood Education qualification, or an AQF Advanced Diploma, or a Diploma in Children’s Services or Out-of-Hours Care.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates.
  • A current Working with Children Check 
  • A current Child Safe Environments for Young People certificate.
  • A Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care certificate

An attractive Remuneration package will be offered to the successful Candidate. The position has an anticipated start date of 23 June 2024, which will involve a 2-week handover period with current OSHC Director.

The Remuneration package to include: 

  1. Dedicated laptop and mobile phone, both for business purposes. Director office space with desktop computer and printer. 
  2. Flexible work arrangements to meet family caring needs, i.e., block shifts, early start/ early finish – late start/late finish
  3. The employer will pay you a minimum of 15% above the award hourly rate or above award annual wage including OT and ALL rates
  4. Paid PD time and course costs
  5. Additional annual leave day(s) after completion of 2 years’ satisfactory service.
  6. Out of ratio administration hours
