This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Respirologist team and perform attended sleep investigations in a NATA accredited sleep service at the John Flynn Hospital. We are looking for an Overnight Sleep Technician to join our team. Previous experience conducting home based sleep study set up and/or attended in lab sleep investigations is or lung function testing is highly desirable.  We are looking for a reliable team member who demonstrates good values-based qualities which include, respect, integrity, effective communication, teamwork and high performance. 

Shift arrangements- 

19:00 to 07:00am overnight shifts performing sleep investigations

1-2 shifts per week. 

Responsibilities include:

• Work a 12hour overnight shift undertaking attended sleep investigations
• Conduct patient mask fittings and education and support for patients on positive airway pressure therapy.
• Maintain quality assurance practices including calibration and maintenance of equipment as per the respiratory and sleep services NATA accreditation standards.
• Contribute to the development of and maintenance of laboratory procedure manuals. 
• Strong desire for continued education and professional development.

Mandatory requirements:

Completed undergraduate/postgraduate degree in science with a strong component in human physiology.

Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and basic life support and requirement to maintain this certification yearly.

Prior experience in sleep and/or Respiratory investigations will be highly desirable. 

Memberships to Sleep and Respiratory Professional associations such as Australia and New Zealand Sleep Science Association (ANZSSA), Australia and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science (ANZSRS) and/or Australian Council of Clinical Physiologist (ACCP) would be highly regarded.

Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
