ADB’s Pacific Liaison and Coordination Office in Sydney serves as the focal point for programming, processing, and administering assistance to Nauru, the Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu.

Continued growth is expected in the Pacific, but governments need to generate additional resources for public infrastructure and services essential to sustaining economic development.

ADB has approved an additional financing package of $42 million to support the delivery of affordable and high-quality health services in Papua New Guinea. 

Pacific economies are bouncing back as tourism recovers and infrastructure projects resume, but inflationary pressures and vulnerability to natural hazards remain downside risks.

ADB has appointed Said Zaidansyah as the Country Director for Papua New Guinea.

PLCO's Role

ADB’s PLCO in Sydney serves as the focal point for programming, processing, and administering assistance to Nauru, the Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu. PLCO facilitates communications, knowledge sharing, and innovation through events and engages with and collaborates with academic and research institutions, civil society and other development partners.

The Sydney Office also serves and the focal point for:

Donor coordination and managing client relationships with Australia and New Zealand.

Processing and administering finance sector operations across the Pacific Island Countries.
