Packaging Machine Operators - rotating - perm - $80K - $86K

The Company
Our client is one of the largest manufacturer of cardboard packaging, cartons and paper products for 40 years supplying in the Australian industry with a range of products that keep things running smoothly throughout warehouses, workshops and offices nation-wide. Due to the growth in demand, there are looking for Machine Operators to join their team in Banksmeadow.

Shift times:
12 hour rotating roster weekly, 40 hours x 3 Shifts per week 6am- 6pm or 6pm - 6am

Duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure Machine is operating effectively and to maximum efficiency
• Automated machine operating, troubleshooting and quality checks
• Ensure a high level of safety and housekeeping is maintained at all times
• Ensure daily production targets are met
• Participate in risk assessments, audits and stocktakes
• Attend and actively participate in continuous improvement meetings
• Gum bottles on machine require refilling and are refilled from 20kg plastic container with tap at waist height
• Approximately 1x 20kg container of glue is used per shift and is replaced by exchanging with full container stored on floor below glue shelf

Skills and Requirements:

• Proven experience working in a similar industry either printing, packaging or paper/cardboard would be advantageous but not essential
• Strong machine operating experience
• Ability to conduct manual handling duties as part of your role
• Strong commitment to work with the right attitude 
• Ability to commit on a rotating roster set out for the year across day and night shift
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong commitment to following WHS protocols and participation
• Effective communication and ability to work unsupervised
