This is a unique opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with children and delivering therapy in creative, engaging, and community-based settings. This role offers the chance to work beyond the clinicâincorporating surf therapy, martial arts, animal-assisted therapy, and outdoor programs to help children develop independence, confidence, and essential life skills.
About the Role
As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, youâll provide therapy in clinic, home, school, and community settings, tailoring interventions to each childâs needs. The caseload is diverse, typically including children with ASD, ADHD, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, learning difficulties, and sensory processing disorders. The clinic also offers holiday intensives and structured programs to support ongoing development.
For therapists interested in surf therapy, full training is provided, and sessions run 1-2 afternoons per week alongside experienced surf instructors. This program is completely optional.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload, tailoring therapy plans to individual goals.
- Conduct assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions.
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to support a childâs progress.
- Integrate play, sensory-based therapy, and outdoor activities where beneficial.
- Maintain clear documentation, progress reports, and NDIS reports.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and team-based case discussions.
