We are seeking for a Pastry Junior Sous Chef, who is versed in pastry techniques, with an in depth understanding of kitchen systems and above all, a passion for pastry and the culinary industry. Our Pastry Junior Sous Chef will be poised to deliver a memorable experience by creating high quality & innovative culinary experiences to establish The Langham, Gold Coast as a Gold Coast dining institution.
Key Responsibilities
Our Pastry Junior Sous Chef is responsible for the creating, executing and presenting all of the desserts and other baked goods including cakes, pastries and desserts ensuring that The Property is positioned as the leading destination for Bakery and Pastry on the Gold Coast.
The Pastry Junior Sous Chef together with Executive Pastry Chef develops ground-breaking and distinctive menus, that optimise the use of quality seasonal produce, create dining trends and enhance food cost performance based on menu engineering. In this role, they will develop innovative and distinctive Dessert Menus that resonate with each unique Outlet and craft an experience for guests to remember.
As part of our exclusive Pastry Team, you will be involved with extensive menu planning, creating and balancing the desires of the guests with innovation, sustainability and profitability & help lead a team of other pastry professionals.
About You
Our Pastry Junior Sous Chef will be an innovator and true Artisan and will have experience in high end volume operations at a luxury hotel/High End Restaurant or Café and proven experience leading teams to meet a level of high performance across food quality and innovation.
