Job Description - Payroll Officer

Payroll Officer for a well established organisation in North Sydney - 12m FTC Your new company
Join a respected and community focused organisation with a long history and strong presence across Australia. As part of their corporate team, you'll play an important role in supporting their mission by ensuring payroll is accurate, compliant, and delivered with excellence. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a strong likelihood of extension or permanency.
Your new role
In this role, you will:Deliver end-to-end payroll processing, including new starters, employee changes, and terminations
  • Validate and process timesheet data
  • Prepare and publish rosters
  • Maintain accurate payroll and HR records
  • Complete end-of-month and end-of-year payroll tasks, including reconciliations
  • Monitor and manage employee leave balances
  • Respond to payroll enquiries from employees and managers
  • Collaborate with People & Performance Advisors on Award and Agreement interpretation
  • Work closely with Finance to meet reporting and compliance requirements
  • Support payroll systems maintenance, ensuring data integrity
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Contribute to People & Performance projects, with opportunities to lead initiatives
  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Previous experience in a full function payroll position
  • Strong understanding of the Fair Work Act, EAs and Awards
  • Experience handling payroll reconciliations
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence with payroll/HRIS systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem solving capability
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Highly organised with the ability to meet strict deadlines
