About this role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Brisbane Head Office team, supporting both Corporate and Project operations.
Reporting to the General Manager Human Resources and working closely with the Payroll Team you will be responsible for:
Managing fortnightly and monthly payroll processing for the group, ensuring all payments are accurate, compliant and delivered on time.
Maintaining accurate employee and contractor data within the HRIS, ensuring timely setup, updates and strong data integrity.
Interpreting and applying employment contracts, company policies and relevant Fair Work requirements.
Providing prompt, professional responses to payroll queries from employees and managers.
Preparing and lodging all statutory payroll obligations within required timeframes, including superannuation, payroll tax (across multiple states), ACIRT, Q‑Leave and workers’ compensation.
Ensuring compliance with Spiecapag policies, procedures and industrial agreements.
Preparing end‑of‑month and end‑of‑year payroll reports for management.
Qualifications:
Previous experience with Definitiv software (desirable)
Cert 4 or equivalent experience in Payroll (5 years minimum)
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Intermediate or above Microsoft excel skills (must include formulas and report formatting)
Proactive problem solving and experienced with payroll data analytics
Service oriented approach, willing to assist the business and project teams.
