Position description
Our client is looking for an ambitious Payroll Officer to join a dynamic team on the North Shore. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the purpose of the role is to support the payroll team by process and pay facilities and corporate staff, support and ensure adherence to all relevant awards, agreements and status related to payment of employees.

The responsibilities
  • Process time sheets, including; overtime, paralegals, casuals and consultants
  • Process staff movements including new starters, departures and other movements
  • Process bonuses and salary sacrifice requests, and checking to ensure payments have been made accurately
  • Approve all leave types (applying firm’s policies and processes)
  • Preparing manual payments when required
  • Respond to all customer queries (face to face, telephone, email)
  • Apply payroll knowledge, knowledge of company policies and procedures and problem-solving skills to provide a quality response
  • Assisting Finance team on queries and reports
  • Apply knowledge of awards and EBA's to the end to end payroll process
  
The successful applicant:
  • Prior experience in a high-volume payroll environment
  • Thoroughly understands the end to end payroll process
  • Knowledge of Chris21/Ichris payroll system
  • Experience with a wide range of EBAs and Awards, strong knowledge in this area
  • Intermediate excel skills (V-lookups, Pivot tables)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, able to promote Payroll best practice
