Lead end-to-end HR in a permanent People & Culture Manager role Your new company This Canberra-based professional services organisation offers a collaborative environment and provides essential services to a broad client base. Your new role As the People & Culture Manager, you will lead and deliver end-to-end HR support in a hands-on, standalone role. You will partner closely with senior leaders and employees to manage the full employee lifecycle while embedding strong people practices and a positive workplace culture. Supporting managing partners and approximately 100 professional staff based in Canberra, you will operate with a high level of autonomy, with access to support from an external People Partner consultant. Key responsibilities include:
Managing core HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations
Providing practical and strategic HR advice to partners and leaders
Leading employee engagement and culture initiatives
Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice
Overseeing learning, development and workforce planning activities
This is a permanent, generalist HR role with a strong operational focus and scope to grow over time. What you'll need to succeed You will be a confident and proactive HR generalist who enjoys working autonomously and taking ownership of outcomes. Due to the client base and nature of the work, this role is only open to Permanent Residents or Australian citizens.
You will bring:
A minimum of four years' experience in a broad HR generalist role
Experience working in a standalone HR function or small environment
Solid knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice
Strong communication, judgement and stakeholder management skills
A self-motivated, curious and practical approach, with a genuine interest in people
