Job Description

Position Summary:

  • Acting as a strategic advisor and hands-on partner to the operations leadership in their allocated region, ensuring HR initiatives align with business objectives.
  • Provide comprehensive 360° HR support to Support Office Leadership and People Managers, fostering strong partnerships with store managers and employees.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to design and implement HR solutions that drive business outcomes and support the region's growth strategy.
  • Working with the GM of People develop and maintain a deep understanding of the retail business, identifying opportunities to add value and drive People initiatives that support the Retail’s objectives.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to the General Manager, Human Resources in the implementation of Retail People programs and initiatives.
  • Provide partnering and support to the Retail Leadership teams for NSW and WA and their teams in all areas of performance management and employee assistance.
  • Partner with the General Manager, Stores to deliver sustainable self-sufficiency processes with our people.
  • Ensure that Retail Leadership and their teams are across GRIA requirements and coached on any relevant changes in legislation.
  • Provide assistance, support, training and advice to the People Advisor, Retail.
  • Assist in the review and analysis of company policies and practices to ensure they continue to support Retail’s needs.
  • Support the General Manager, People and Chief People & Capabilities Officer with Retail communication and people initiatives.
  • In conjunction with GM of Stores and GM of People identify opportunities to improve the Retail team member and Store Management experience through continuous improvement and effective use of processes and systems.
  • Keep up to date with changes in the NES, Modern Awards and industrial relations laws and cascade this information to management and the People team when required.
  • Prepare information and provide recommendations regarding Retail remuneration reviews.
  • Assist in the review of training and development needs for the Retail teams.
  • Preparation of HR reports where required to provide insight and analysis of people trends within the retail business.
  • Analysis People Experience data, Engagement and Exit interviews with Retail the business and follow up with any necessary action and/or recommendations.
  • Perform other ‘ad-hoc’ duties / accountabilities as directed by the General Manager, HR and / or Chief People & Capabilities Officer as and when required.

      Qualifications

      Qualifications & Experience Required:

      • Formal qualifications (diploma or higher) in Human Resources or a related discipline.
      • 5 years’ Human Resource experience, preferably in a retail environment or similar with at least 1 year in a Business Partnering role.
      • A demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) at an intermediary level.
      • An advanced knowledge of the relevant Acts, Legislation, Codes and Standards that affect employees.
      • A demonstrated ability to be able to evaluate, interpret and make recommendations on excel spreadsheet data i.e. attrition reports, equal opportunity reports etc.

      • A demonstrated ability to work well in a team or autonomously as needed.
      • Be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
      • Have the ability to be both empathetic and sympathetic to situations that may arise from time to time.
      • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
      • Possess a love of animals.
