Pick/Pack Team Member – Earlyrise Baking Co

Earlyrise Baking Co is looking for full-time permanent Pick and Packing Team Member’s (Pick Packer) to assist in operating our machines to label and pack the Earlyrise family of products.

Reporting to the Packing Department Supervisor, you will use your extensive experience to package our Stevenson Village Pies and Sausage Rolls, flakiest and buttery croissants, cakes, eclairs, tarts and freshly baked specialty bread from sourdough, cobs to baguettes. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

In your role as a Pick and Pack Team Member (Pick Packer), your key responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

• Operate and control the machinery from packaging machines to the bread slicer which may include several pieces of equipment that are manually, semi automatically, or automatically controlled.
• Assist in the setup of the machinery including ensuring the correct packaging (bread bags) are utilised. 
• Monitor packaging materials to ensure continuity of operations. 
• Package and palletise products to the required specifications. 
• Safely and efficiently operate all bakery and packing equipment to maximise efficiency and quality of product.
• Use lifting devices such as mechanical aids, pallet jacks and forklifts to move loads.
• Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety procedures are followed.

ABOUT YOU 

The perfect Pick and Packing Team Member (Pick Packer) will have picking and packing experience (preferably within the food and beverage manufacturing industry) with a demonstrated ability to work in and towards a safe work environment and hold a special combo of the right skills, experience and attitude:

• Your previous picking, packing and dispatching experience will give you the confidence to step into the role and make an immediate impact.
• You are a people person who’ll work collaboratively with the rest of the Earlyrise Baking Co team and be committed to achieving results.
• Your organisational and coordination abilities ensure that when things are busy it doesn’t get you down because you can easily prioritise to make sure everything gets done.
