Plant Mechanic | Field Service - Western NSW - Cadia, Lake Cowal, Cobar, Tamworth and surrounds 

WesTrac is expanding our Field Service team and we’re looking for experienced Plant Mechanics / Heavy Diesel Technicians to support customers across Cadia, Lake Cowal, Cobar Tamworth and surrounds.

If you enjoy autonomy, problem‑solving and working on world‑class Caterpillar equipment, this role offers variety, stability and a lifestyle‑friendly roster.

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose, service and repair CAT mobile plant equipment in the field


• Deliver safe, high‑quality work with minimal downtime for customers


• Work independently across multiple customer sites


• Represent WesTrac with strong technical capability and customer service

Roster & Benefits

• Roster: 7 days on 7 days off


• Shifts: 12 hour day shift only


• Meals: Provided or reimbursed


• Vehicle: Supplied of Reimbursed


• Potential earnings: $64.77 hourly to $69.40 hourly (assessed on skills and experience)

What You’ll Bring

• Cert III Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent trade)


• Experience working on Caterpillar equipment


• Strong diagnostics and repair capability


• OEM experience, SIS/ET exposure (highly regarded)


• Ability to work autonomously in the field


• Current driver’s licence
