The Opportunity

Contract - 1 year fixed term contract, with potential for extension

Hybrid working, Melbourne

We're looking for a Platform Engineer consultant to join one of our enterprise telecommunications clients, working on the backend of their enterprise AI platform. You'll write production Python code, fix bugs, ship enhancements, and help prototype what's next — all while keeping our CI/CD pipelines humming.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who likes owning a product end-to-end rather than just shipping tickets.

What You'll Do
•    Develop and maintain the backend of our client’s enterprise AI platform product, primarily in Python
•    Triage and fix bugs, and deliver incremental enhancements to existing functionality
•    Investigate and prototype potential new features, working from concept through to feasibility
•    Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins, integrated with GitHub
•    Rotate through a support roster for our Citizen Developer community, helping non-engineers get unstuck

What You'll Bring
•    Strong commercial experience with Python in a backend/platform engineering context
•    Hands-on experience with Jenkins and GitHub for CI/CD and version control
•    Comfort working in a WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) on Windows 11 development environment
•    Experience with Jira and Confluence for planning, tracking, and documentation
•    A track record of debugging production systems and shipping fixes with minimal supervision
•    Strong communication skills — you'll be supporting non-technical Citizen Developers directly

Nice to Have
•    Experience supporting or building internal developer platforms or low-code/citizen development tooling
•    Exposure to AI/ML platform components or LLM-backed products
•    Prior experience in a technology consultancy or client-facing engineering environment
