YOUR ROLE
The Platform Engineering Lead is a key technical and leadership position within the Cyber Technology Integration Services (CTIS) Service Line. This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of platform engineering outcomes across a range of client engagements, spanning cloud platforms, system integrations, and secure-by-design implementations.
 

As a senior technical specialist, this role drives the design, implementation, and optimisation of platform solutions, ensuring robust CI/CD practices, security integration, and operational excellence throughout the delivery lifecycle. The Lead Platform Engineer operates across a variety of technology domains, including cloud, DevOps, security, and integration, and is not limited to any single platform or capability.

• Lead end-to-end delivery of scalable, secure platform solutions across cloud and on-prem environments, including design, deployment, and operational support
• Drive CI/CD pipeline optimisation, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps best practices to ensure automated, consistent deployments
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring, code reviews, and capability development while standardising platform engineering practices
• Integrate platforms with enterprise systems, focusing on security, networking, and third-party services
• Implement and optimise observability, troubleshooting, and incident resolution for reliable platform performance
• Support architectural decisions, technical strategy, pre-sales activities, and maintain platform documentation and standards
   

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
To be successful in this role you will bring the following experience and skillset:

• Ideally have 5+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, or system integration with demonstrated career progression
• Proven leadership in platform engineering across projects or teams, driving standards and capability uplift
• Expertise in designing and implementing scalable CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Strong hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), networking, secrets management, and enterprise security best practices
• Skilled in troubleshooting complex system integration issues and performing root cause analysis
• Excellent communication skills for effectively engaging with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in production support, monitoring, and managing on-call responsibilities
