Join the team as a Pole Dresser at our Koppers Round Wood Manufacturing & Treatment Plant facility in Grafton.

About the role

You'll be responsible for prefabrication of hardwood poles and other products to meet customer requirements, whilst ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and productivity.

Daily activities include:

• Perform prefabrication of hardwood poles & products
• Operate machines safely & complete daily machinery pre-start checklist
• Complete process control documentation on completion of tasks, ensuring all paperwork is correct
• Meet production level requirements & product quality standards
• Undertake regular routine maintenance checks in line with compliance
• Participate efficiently in stock takes
• Maintain safe working practices & environmental awareness
• Maintain work area, ensuring prefab areas are in clean condition
• May involve shift work

What are we looking for

• Competency in chainsaws
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Competency in pole specifications, pole prefab operation and timber knowledge preferred
• Good communication and team work skills
• Understanding of timber preservation processes ideal
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures
• Physically fit with a satisfactory pre-employment medical screening
• Ability and willingness to undertake shift work
