Policy Officer

Halcyon Knights is seeking a Policy Officer to support its SA government client, specializing in general policy, who will play a pivotal role in shaping, implementing, and evaluating policies crucial to the advancement of government initiatives in this domain. Your responsibilities will entail conducting comprehensive research, analysis, and strategic planning to drive effective policy development and enhance law enforcement services.

The initial contract will be for six months, and will have the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:
⦁ Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform general policy / casiono and gambling policy development.
⦁ Collaborate closely with stakeholders within the law enforcement community to identify needs and formulate policy recommendations.
⦁ Develop, implement, and evaluate policies tailored to address challenges and improve law enforcement practices.
⦁ Continuously monitor and assess policy impact, making necessary adjustments to optimize effectiveness.
⦁ Prepare detailed reports, briefings, and presentations to effectively communicate policy proposals and their outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
⦁ Stay abreast of emerging industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure informed and proactive policy decision-making.

Requirements:
⦁ Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related field.
⦁ Proven track record as a Policy Officer
⦁ Must have a police check (valid for 12 months)
⦁ Demonstrated analytical prowess and critical thinking abilities essential for developing robust policy recommendations.
⦁ Exceptional communication skills and a talent for engaging with stakeholders within the law enforcement community.
⦁ Ability to conduct thorough research and distill complex information into actionable policy proposals.
⦁ Familiarity with legislative processes and government regulations
