Policy Officer

About the Role

The division are seeking two policy officers, one at the APS6 level and one at an EL1 level, to assist with the implementation of recommendations from the review of the After-Hours Policies and Programs. You'll have excellent strategic thinking skills, and an ability to apply policy and guidelines to achieve outcomes.

APS6

As an APS6 policy officer you'll have demonstrated strong written communication skills, including experience in drafting a range of documents for the Executive, Ministers and stakeholders - such as briefs, correspondence, reports and policy papers as well as public-facing documents.

EL1

As the EL1 policy officer you'll demonstrate data analytic skills and familiarity with Commonwealth held datasets.

Skills and Qualifications

• Confidence to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail.

What's on offer

The successful candidate will notionally be offered a 12-month hourly rate contract at the APS6 or EL1 level (dependant on experience). This position is based in Canberra.

As this role is with the Federal Government, only Australian citizens that hold a current baseline clearance will be considered for this vacancy.
