Post Doctoral Scientist (Immunology) - Loi Laboratory
•    12-month fixed term, full time position
•    80 hours per fortnight with monthly ADO's
•    Attractive salary packaging options are available
•    Salary Range: 1RA6 - 1RA10
 
About the role
An opportunity is available immediately for a highly motivated post doctoral scientist with a strong background in immunology who is keen to apply their skills to breast cancer. Joining the Translational Breast Cancer Genomics and Therapeutics Laboratory led by Professor Sherene Loi, the successful candidate will work on projects that harness the immune system to improve breast cancer prevention and treatment, using both immunology and genomics. Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant discipline and have hands on experience with immunological and molecular methods, using in vivo models as well as analysing human samples, with a clear drive to publish in leading journals. The position will be supervised by Professor Sherene Loi, with additional mentorship from Group Leaders within the Cancer Immunology Program.
 
About you
You will have an excellent ability in data analysis, data management, problem solving and maintaining accurate research records.
 
You'll bring with you:
•    A PhD in the Biological/Biomedical sciences.
•    Demonstrated experience in animal handling, cell culture techniques and Flow cytometry analysis.
•    Demonstrated experience in using initiative, working with minimal supervision and ability to prioritise tasks to achieve project objectives within timelines.
•    Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a research team and interact in a courteous and effective manner with academic, administrative and support staff.
•    Writing and publishing scientific papers
•    Contribution to research-based funding through grant and fellowship applications
•    Demonstrated capacity to publish in top scientific journals.
•    Demonstrated capacity to attract research funding and produce quality publications.
•    Experience in supervising/mentoring staff and students
