Practice Manager

About the role

Shire Doctors and Dentists are seeking a Practice Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy medical practice in Caringbah, NSW. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our practice and providing exceptional patient care. This is a full-time position based on-site at our Caringbah location. We’re open to candidates from any industry who bring strong values, business management skills, and a passion for people and team work. 

What you'll be doing

• Manage and coordinate all administrative and operational aspects of the practice
• Oversee staff scheduling, recruitment, training and performance management
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with medical and administrative staff
• Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and industry standards
• Implement and monitor efficient processes and procedures to optimise practice efficiency
• Manage the practice's financial operations, including budgeting, invoicing and payroll
• Liaise with external stakeholders such as suppliers, insurers and regulatory bodies
• Identify and implement opportunities for practice improvement and growth
• Lead accreditation compliance and implementation including preparation
• Conduct regular staff meetings, training where required and performance discussions 
• Maintain and control debtors, creditors and general ledger to ensure maximum profitability and cash flow and compliance with all taxation, record keeping and other statutory requirements. 
• Maintain knowledge of, and comply with, workplace health and safety principles including infection control.

• Excellent leadership, organisational, prioritisation and time management skills with a keen eye for detail
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with staff and patients
• Being well presented, kind, friendly, courteous and obliging
• The ability to think strategically and implement operational improvements
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• The ability to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice information 

Desired but not essential 

• Experience in a similar role, ideally within the healthcare industry
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, policies and procedures
• Proficient in using Best Practice management software, XERO, Microsoft Office and other relevant IT systems
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. business, healthcare administration)
