  • Do you have more than 3 years of continuous experience in conducting workplace investigations and or police investigations?
  • Do you have superior writing and exceptional communication skills?
  • Can you work autonomously and as part of a team?
  • Do you have experience in maintaining sound judgement, discretion, and highest levels of confidentiality?
  • Do you have the following  added advantages:

-background in courts and legal proceedings? 
-Familiarity with tribunal processes?
-knowledge of government agencies such as the Independent Commission Against Crime (ICAC) and the NSW Ombudsman
-Acceptable qualification in investigations.

About the Opportunity
You will be working in a challenging, high-volume risk-based environment where you will be required to undertake complex investigations, reviews, and assessments.

The role of Principal Officer, Audit and Investigations is a senior role in the Internal Audit Unit. You will work closely with the Director of Internal Audit/Chief Audit Executive to deliver high quality investigations. You will assist, as directed by the Director of Internal Audit, to assist with Internal Audit tasks, reviews, training and presentations.

What You'll be Doing
The Principal Officer Audit and Investigations is responsible for assisting the Internal Audit Manager to perform complex and sensitive reviews, audits and investigations and provide independent and objective advice and information on control, risk and governance issues in order to contribute to the effective operation of the Local Health District.

  • Current membership of the Australian Society of CPAs, the Institute of Chartered Accountants or the Institute of Internal Auditors.
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in investigations and ability to manage complex and varied investigations.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills that enable sound decision making and timely responses.
  • High level interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, to interrogate, and to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with a range of internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated superior research and report writing skills.
  • Experience in developing and conducting training sessions.
  • Must possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence (excluding learner driver's licences). If not already in possession, a NSW Drivers Licence must be obtained within 3 months of appointment and the ability to travel within the South Western Sydney Local Health District's geographical area.
