We’re hiring a Principal Security Engineer!

In this role you will be the senior technical expert for security architecture, engineering standards, and security control design working closely with the SOC, platform and technology leadership teams.

You are responsible for making and owning security design decisions, setting technical standards and patterns, and being hands on in the implementation, configuration, and uplift of security controls across the organisation. 

Sydney or Melbourne based.

Your role:

• Act as the technical authority for security design decisions across cloud, infrastructure, identity, endpoint, and application domains.

• Own and evolve security architecture patterns, reference designs, and hardening standards.

• Define, document, and maintain security engineering standards, baselines, and configuration requirements.

• Own the technical quality of security controls – what “good” looks like, how it’s configured, and why.

• Be hands-on configuring, implementing, and improving security controls where depth of expertise is required.

• Lead complex or high-risk security engineering work (identity, conditional access, endpoint controls, logging, monitoring, cloud security).

• Work alongside the SOC Lead, providing design guidance, escalation support, and technical expertise. 

• Provide technical assurance that security controls are implemented as designed.

What you bring:

• Proven applied experience in cyber security or security engineering role in Financial Services.

• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing security controls at scale. 

• Experience working with - Microsoft security technology (Highly Desirable) - Networking infrastructure (Firewalls) - Email Security platforms - Endpoint protection technology  - Identity and Access management.

• Experience in working with industry compliance and security standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST

• Expertise in strategic planning, security standards and framework.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (highly desirable). 

• Strong communication skills and a team player.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
