Local Buy is seeking to appoint a permanent, full-time Procurement Partner (Account Manager) in Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns to join its committed team of procurement professionals. The role is full time work from home with material intra state travel. Find out more at www.localbuy.net.au

The Role

As the Procurement Partner, you will be working proactively on providing ongoing technology implementation and account management to our Nex Gen Councils. The Nex Gen Procurement system is a first-of-its-kind initiative to provide a fully funded common procurement system (VendorPanel) to the whole of Queensland Local Government. Our project enables a consistent way for all councils to engage suppliers through public tenders, internal panels or a Local Buy Arrangement.

You will engage with Procurement Teams all across Queensland providing support, training, change management, project assistance or other activities to build capability in the sector so they can extract the full value of the Nex Gen procurement technology ecosystem.

We are seeking a capable customer-focused procurement specialist to join our procurement team with a background of managing their own workload and able to build good connections with clients. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys building relationships, is confident in delivering training, tech savvy, self-motivated and committed to a highly personalised support service

You will have the freedom to work from home and travel to client sites as required. You will have the opportunity to represent Local Buy and visit some of the most remote and stunning places in Queensland.

About you

• 3 years experience in a client centered Procurement role, preferably in Local Government
• Procurement technology skills with the confidence to present and demonstrate how the technology works
• Experience in VendorPanel is highly regarded
• Experience in the delivery of program implementation activities, including working with delivery partners
• Experience in an Account Management type role is highly desired
• Ability to engage directly with customers, guiding them to get the most out of the Procurement technology
• Ability to understand Procurement policy, rules and processes
• Confident in dealing with tight deadlines
• A willingness to learn and work within our operating model, aspiration and vision
• Excellent attention to detail with a can-do attitude and a healthy respect for deadlines
• An ability to work cooperatively in a close-knit team, keeping all team members informed of your work
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise tact, discretion, initiative and sound judgment
