Product Development Engineer

Come join our Engineering team based at our Head Office in Brendale, Queensland as our new Product Development Engineer, where’ll get to develop and design new innovative products to bring to market.

Your role in our Team

You’ll be an enthusiastic, motivated hands-on team player who takes pride in your work. Innovation, safety, attention to detail, and the quality of your work are your trademarks. You’re also a team member we can rely on to take ownership and deliver.

You’ll report directly to our Engineering team lead and be part of our broader Engineering and Product Development Team. You will be responsible for ensuring :

• Continuous product innovation, including performance, design and safety enhancements are integral in your designs and development,
• All product designs comply with required standards and regulations,
• A methodical approach to your design project management is undertaken which ensures that:
• Commercially astute considerations are incorporated, including product commerciality, speed to market and market-leading design,
• Product development stages are sequentially followed, with supporting documentation, and key stakeholder engagement and endorsement,
• Agreed timeframes are met or bettered!
• You’ll adopt an agile approach, informed through collaboration and consultation with key stakeholders through the design and development stages.
   

What you’ll bring to the Team

• You’ll be proficient in “solid works” in part and assembly design, CAD modelling and drafting,
• You’ll have a minimum 3 to 5 years experience in Automotive (4x4 off-road product design – Preferred) or a similar / transferrable industry,
• Ideally your engineering Qualification will be in Mechanical Engineering or similar,
• You’ll be able to demonstrate your knowledge in:
• Sheet metal product design, welding requirements and surface finishes,
• Tooling, machining, fabrication, and assembly operations, and
• Suspension products / Plastic product design knowledge considered as an advantage 
• You are happy to be hands on are fit to perform physical work.
• You’re a great team member who has great verbal and written communication skills and you’ll be a great networker, with strong relationship building skills,
• Ideally experience in Document management (PDM Vault), is highly desirable; and 
• Most importantly, design is a genuine passion of yours, you’re exceptionally proud when you and the team bringing new ideas to market!
