Product Owner

Robert Half, on behalf of our client, is seeking a Product Owner with experience in the embedded products working for an organization at the forefront of robotics and automation. In this role, you will manage the development and execution of project schedules for a defined product. This position is crucial in ensuring clear communication of requirements to the development team, fostering a cohesive and collaborative atmosphere among all stakeholders to deliver high-quality products on time.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Management:

• Collaborate with product management and senior stakeholders to align development with the product roadmap and project scope.
• Contribute to user requirements and ensure they are clear to the development teams.
• Follow Agile methodologies to maintain the product backlog, prioritize items, and create work schedules.
• Define features, functionality, user experience, and release criteria for software development specifications.
• Interact closely with UI/UX designers to ensure requirements meet user needs.
• Create, review, and update technical product documentation.

Stakeholder Management:

• Seek and relay feedback from key stakeholders to prioritize product development.
• Act as the internal educator and advocate for the product, communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to enhance product knowledge.

Commercial Management:

• Understand product positioning and messaging to assist in developing marketing and commercial strategies.
• Partner with Marketing and the Product Manager to assist with marketing campaigns and materials.
• Provide product support to customers and collaborate with commercial and marketing teams for demonstrations and proposals.
• Present at internal and external conferences, industry groups, or online forums to build the brand.

Leadership and People Management:

• Communicate the vision and create a shared sense of purpose.
• Ensure staff are engaged, competent, and compliant with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Provide feedback, recognize high performance, and address poor performance in a timely manner.
• Recruit talent based on capability requirements and offer development opportunities.

Risk and Compliance:

• Lead discussions on risk and compliance management.
• Implement strategies to embed the reporting and resolution of potential non-compliance and misconduct.
• Ensure compliance with risk and compliance policies, local laws, and standards.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Geology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in full development cycle and Agile development methodologies.
• Experience in change management.
• Exceptional strategic influencing and relationship management skills.
• Experience in business analysis and translating business requirements to functional requirements.

Desirable:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position, preferably in the resources industry.
• Agile certification.
• Project Management certification.
• Domain knowledge in geology, drilling fluids, mining hardware, or software engineering.
