We are looking for a Product Owner who combines hands-on mining expertise with strong CAD knowledge and a passion for building better software. This is a rare opportunity to turn the practical insights you have gained on site into product improvements that make a meaningful difference to mining professionals every day.

You will connect Product Management, Mining Consultants and Software Engineers, translating the roadmap and mining workflows into clear requirements, priorities and outcomes. This hands-on role involves triaging defects, balancing enhancements and fixes, and working with experts and customers to make pragmatic decisions for a complex product.

What You Will Do

• Own tactical roadmap planning and break priorities into clear, well-defined and deliverable work
• Be the voice of the mining engineer, bringing operational context to product and software decisions
• Write detailed requirements and acceptance criteria that give engineering teams clarity and reduce ambiguity
• Prioritise the backlog across defects, bug fixes and feature enhancements, balancing customer impact and delivery needs
• Define test boundaries and expected outcomes for new features, changes and defect resolution
• Collaborate with software teams, Mining Consultants, subject-matter experts and customers to validate ideas before they are built

What You Will Bring

• Advanced user-level experience with Deswik.CAD or comparable mine planning and CAD software or similar products is key
• A genuine passion for CAD products and the mining professionals who rely on them
• BE/BSc degree or relevant technical qualification
• A strong mining engineering background, ideally including underground mining and exposure to varied mining methods
• The ability to translate complex mining workflows and technical concepts for software teams and non-mining stakeholders
• Strong communication and influencing skills, including the confidence to manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations without relying on formal authority
• Comfort working through ambiguity, with sound judgement, effective time management, bias for action and excellent communication.

You will report to the Product Line Manager and join a small, growing Product Line team working collectively to deliver the strategic roadmap. As the team grows, there is scope to broaden into a more commercial and externally facing role, help steward a mature product and contribute to how we use AI for research, prioritisation, data analysis and smarter ways of working.
