Job Description - Product Quality Manager

How will I help?

This Product Manager role is accountable in supporting the Consumer Finance team to rectify product risk matters and continually improve our product sets so that they meet our customers’ expectations, ensuring that our products and services are working to design. Success is measured by the quality and speed by which we solve incidents/issues, and facilitate remediation, and be able to continually find solutions to make our processes better for our customers so that we achieve our business ambition to become Australia’s way to pay and borrow.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead rectification and remediation of Consumer Finance incidents and issues.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Consumer Finance value chain and understand how things work both internally and from customers’ perspective from origination, servicing and to closure.
  • Be the lead (Product Owner) for change, both in defining and improving current state
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, updates and this includes providing succinct and accurate updates to our Regulators and engage well with stakeholders and ensure they are kept up to date and are provided opportunity to contribute to change that we are making.
  • Contribute to the Westpac Consumer Finance strategy and drive tangible outcomes to the business.
  • Be the SME for future process/customer journey re-engineering programmes.
  • Lead remediation initiatives, effectively delivering positive outcomes for our customers and addressing and eliminating risk for the business.

  • Experience in the Financial Services industry, ideally in a Product Management, Operational Risk or Business Analyst background.
  • Has demonstrable track record in optimising processes and help make a difference to customer experience.
  • Able to ‘join the dots’ across a number of specialist areas, including credit risk, operating risk, compliance, process design, operations, marketing and customer engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of the consumer credit market, products, origination processes and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in service design and/or exposure to customer journey and Human Centred Design frameworks would be viewed favourably.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to think clearly. Will be called upon to provide updates to Australian Regulators.
  • Be able to use data to create meaningful insights and support decision-making.
  • Be able build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
