The role
Reporting into the Senior Impact Programs Manager, The Program Engagement Manager leads the delivery of the Foundation’s hospital-based entertainment programs and family concierge services, supporting children, young people and families during their hospital experience.
This role provides day-to-day leadership for a team of five direct reports and oversees the safe, inclusive and trauma-informed delivery of programs including Kidzone, Bedside Play, resource loans, Paw Play and Family Concierge. Working closely with hospital teams, volunteers and the wider Impact Programs portfolio, the role is responsible for service quality, program integration, stakeholder relationships, team capability, reporting and continuous improvement across a broad and highly valued program portfolio.
This is a permanent full-time position, based in the Queensland Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane.

You’re an experienced, compassionate and values-led people leader who is confident supporting staff and volunteers to deliver safe, thoughtful and high-quality experiences for children, young people and families. You bring strong management capability, sound judgement and the ability to lead expansive program delivery across multiple services, balancing day-to-day operations with service quality, continuous improvement, reporting and stakeholder expectations.
You understand the sensitivity and complexity of working alongside vulnerable families and children in a hospital environment, and you can build trusted relationships while maintaining professional boundaries, confidentiality, informed consent and child safe practice. Most importantly, you are motivated by the opportunity to make a genuine difference and share our commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
