Job Statement

We are seeking to employ a Project Exploration Geologist to join the Genesis Minerals site team. The primary purpose of the role is to co-ordinate the effective gathering, coordination, and communication of geological data for the Genesis exploration department.  In addition, the role is responsible for actively contributing to the performance of the Exploration Team, through demonstrated adherence and promotion of the Genesis values

Reporting to the Senior Exploration Geologist, responsibilities of this role will include:

• Interpretation of logging and drilling results with assistance in the evaluation of geological modelling, resource estimation and subsequent economic evaluation

• Support Senior Exploration Geologists as required

• Design and implementation of drilling programs

• Supervision of exploration programs including logging, data entry, assessment of results and all aspects of quality control

• Supervise geological fieldwork including mapping, soil/rock sampling, and generation of exploration models Ensuring own Health & Safety as well as that of all other workers, identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training

• Ensuring all tasks are carried out in an environmentally sustainable manner

This is a permanent opportunity, working 8 days on, 6 days off roster. The role may be Fly-in Fly-out from Perth WA, Drive-in Drive-out from Kalgoorlie or residential in Leonora.

What we will expect from you:

• Driver’s license (C Class, manual car) – essential

• Ability to produce a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 6 months) for site access purposes.

• A tertiary qualification in Geology or Geotechnical Engineering

• 3 years’ experience as an Exploration Geologist or similar in gold exploration

• Strong communication skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures.

• Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.

• High level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals
