About MATES in Construction MATES is an established charity who provide suicide prevention through community development programs targeted at the construction industry and by supporting workers in need through case management and a 24/7 help line.
MATES vision is to be Australia’s leading industry suicide prevention organisation focusing on raising awareness, building capacity, providing help and research.
MATES in Construction, as a leading example of an industry suicide prevention program is working with the North American construction industry to investigate the feasibility of piloting the MATES in Construction program in North America. The first stage of the project is to establish a detailed plan for a sustainable pilot program.
About the role The Project Manager will work closely with a US based Project Lead to drive development of a detailed project plan, over the course of their 12 month contract.
They will engage key organisations and stakeholders to ensure the pilot is being led by a bi-partisan industry wide committee with senior level engagement and support with representation from employers, unions and research expertise.
Key outcomes and deliverables: - Develop a comprehensive Pilot Project Plan, from concept to delivery, including resources and protocols for delivery.
- Outlines the strategy for the pilot evaluation, developed with North American researchers in collaboration with the MATES research Reference Group.
- Provide operational support and supervision to the Project Lead.
- Provide the CEO with regular program delivery updates and formal and financial reporting as well as the maintenance of governance standards.
About you! The successful candidate will demonstrate experience planning and delivering a project. You will be a key driver in helping to establish a leading industry program in North America.
The Project Manager will support the success of the pilot program in North America. To be successful in this role, you must have a deep understanding and connection to the vision of MATES in Construction – ‘To be Australia’s leading industry suicide prevention organisation, focusing on raising awareness, building capacity, providing help and research.’
You will demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, possess a great deal of influencing skills and a clear communication style.
