Project Manager

Connect People are seeking an experienced Project Manager for our client's South Brisbane base of operations.

Our client is one of Australia's largest water and sewer maintenance capital service providers, providing a range of planned, maintenance, repair, restoration and renewal services across Australia.

Project Management experience in the water sector is highly regarded.

Initial 3-month contract with the option for permanent placement.

Flexibile with start times from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, totaling 38 hours per week.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and synchronize various capital works project renewals and maintenance work packages for the client, focusing on performance and progress. Also, ensure the maintenance, preparation, and reporting of progress against schedules for project delivery.
- Create project budgets, generate cost reports and forecasts, and oversee the monitoring and control of project expenses.
- Support in identifying potential hazardous site activities and guarantee the implementation of suitable procedures and controls.
- Ensure the consideration of community, environment, operations and maintenance issues are integrated into the selection of preferred options for projects during the planning and design process.
- Provide coaching to enhance the capability of Project Engineers in effective project management, subcontractor management, estimating processes, and related areas.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Knowledge of SAP
- Cert IV or higher in Project Management
- Leadership Qualifications (highly regarded)
- Experience in managing both major and minor capital works projects within a multi-disciplinary environment, including overseeing scope definition, budget allocation, and project execution.
- Proficiency in project estimating, including familiarity with associated processes and the necessary inputs for accurate estimation.
- Managing HR and IR issues, subcontractors, finance including budgeting and reporting, and previous team management and leadership.
