About the role:

An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Project Manager - Capital Project Delivery to join their team to deliver various Local and State Government infrastructure projects throughout QLD and NSW including but not limited to Water and Wastewater Treatment Infrastructure, Civil Works, Roads, Bridges and Remediation Works.

Key responsibilities:

Responsible for whole of project delivery, from business case, planning, design, construction and handover of complex infrastructure projects.

Required on a full-time basis, working Monday to Friday with travel required from time to time.

The Project Manager will be accountable for:

  • Managing project deliverables, schedule, cost, quality, governance, and project risk profile for various infrastructure projects.
  • Managing contractual and commercial relationships for the company and on behalf of their clients.
  • Undertaking site inspections on an as-required basis.
  • Managing day-to-day activities on site and coordinating construction works between all parties involved.
  • Managing relevant stakeholders and team members on the project progress, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Supporting the team in preparing tenders and proposals for potential clients.
  • Building and developing internal and external governance systems.
  • Working autonomously with little reactive oversight from senior management.
  • Ensuring the project's success and/or other outcomes.
  • Ensuring critical milestones are met in the program or prompt reporting of program slippages with recommended corrective actions to ensure successful project or contract outcomes.
  • Timeliness of procurement activities to avoid unnecessary delays to the project.
  • Accurate and efficient financial management of all contracts.
  • Ensuring value for money and best practices in project and contract delivery.
  • Efficiency of services- ensuring that resources and funds are managed in the most efficient way while meeting the needs of the program.
  • Compliance with relevant legislation and client processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement to processes and procedures that could result in better outcomes for the company and their clients.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in project management, construction management or engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Project Management role.
  • Strong project reporting and budgeting skills essential.
  • Strong project acumen in project planning and management.
  • Capable of managing complex stakeholder and client interfaces.
  • High level of, and attention to detail in preparing quality project documentation.
