Job Summary

Job Statement

Are you an experienced Mine Geologist looking for an opportunity to make a real impact at a growing open pit operation?

Genesis Minerals is continuing to expand its West Australian gold operations, and we're looking for an enthusiastic and capable Project Mine Geologist – Open Pit to join our team at the Bruno Lewis mine, part of our Laverton Operations.

This is an opportunity to play an important role in the geological direction and performance of an expanding open pit operation, contributing to effective grade control, resource development and mine planning. You'll work closely with the Senior Mine Geologist and operational teams, helping ensure geological information is accurate, meaningful and translated into practical outcomes for the mine.

For an experienced Mine Geologist ready to broaden their operational influence, develop their leadership capability and take ownership of key geological activities, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will coordinate and support the delivery of open pit mine geology activities, ensuring geological data is effectively collected, interpreted and communicated to support safe and efficient mining operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate and oversee grade control and near-mine resource development drilling activities, maintaining quality and accuracy of geological data.
• Support the delivery of day-to-day mine geology activities, including pit mapping, ore block design, ore mark-outs and ore spotting.
• Provide geological guidance and operational support to mining teams to optimise ore extraction and minimise dilution and ore loss.
• Step into a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Senior Mine Geologist, providing direction and support across mine geology and drilling activities.
• Assist with end-of-month processes, geological reconciliations and resource model updates.
• Develop a strong understanding of the geological controls on mineralisation and grade across the deposit, contributing to improved geological interpretation and mine planning.
• Support the development and capability of Mine Geologists and Graduate Geologists.

What you can expect from us

At Genesis, we believe our people are the foundation of our success. You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative team where technical expertise is valued, development is encouraged and there are genuine opportunities to grow your career.

You'll also enjoy:

• A positive and supportive site culture with a strong focus on teamwork.
• A 'grow our own' philosophy, with opportunities to develop and progress internally.
• Access to professional development opportunities and educational assistance.
• Competitive remuneration and salary sacrifice options.
• The opportunity to contribute to a growing operation and be part of Genesis' ongoing success.

Our team lives by the ASPIRE Values – Accountable. Sustainable. People First. Integrity. Results. Empower.

We're interested in hearing from you if you have:

• A tertiary qualification in Geology or a related discipline.
• Approximately 3–5 years' experience in a Mine Geologist role, preferably within open pit mining.
• Experience in grade control, geological interpretation and resource development drilling.
• Exposure to different deposit types and styles, with the ability to understand and interpret geological controls on mineralisation.
• Experience supporting, mentoring or developing Mine Geologists and Graduate Geologists.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively with operational and technical teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

The Details

• Permanent, full-time opportunity.
• Based at our Laverton Operations, working on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.
