UON is a Western Australian integrated energy company providing turnkey energy and water solutions to the mining sector and beyond.
We are seeking Polywelder / Operators to join our onsite projects team on a 2:1 Roster, paid fortnightly.
To be successful in this role you will need:
A minimum of 2 years post qualified experience as a Polywelder
A minimum of 2 years of proven experience working as Polywelder in all aspects of butt and electro fusion welding experience in operator roles in relevant mine/construction sites.
A minimum of 2 years' experience using a variety of Polywelding equipment and procedures specifically (McElroy -T618, T500, T900 and Dixon welder).
BHP and FMG inducted (desirable)
Essential tickets:
A valid certificate in Polywelding (Butt Weld & Electrofusion or Extrusion welding) from an accredited institution within 2 years of conclusion date.
o Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) Training.
o Cardiopulmonary Perform Resuscitation (CPR) Training.
o Senior First Aid Training.
o Current High Risk Work Licence -Basic Rigging (RB), or Elevating Work Platforms (EWP).
o Valid Operating Tickets – Excavator and Loader
o Chain of Responsibility – Drivers Training
o Current and valid Telehandler Tickets
Key duties of this role includes:
Knowledge of Polywelding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools
Strong understanding of pipeline instrumentation
Perform precision welding according to Australian Standards.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts
Reading and understanding Piping and Instrumentation Diagram
Welding a range of pipe diameter ranging from DN63 – DN900)
Use specialised machinery for industrial Polywelding and oversee machines that perform the same job
Conduct flushing and hydrostatic testing
Conduct commissioning on all mechanical components on pipelines.
Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
Maintain and repair all machinery
Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.
Working knowledge of site safety requirements to observe and maintain a high level of safety practice at all time
Work as a team to develop and utilise the skills and knowledge required to deliver quality
Work in a unified manner with all UON personnel and departments to achieve company objectives
Think and behave in accordance with UON Values and Behaviours
Participation and delivery of site and workshop tasks/works as directed by Supervision/management
