Quality Control Leading Hand 

Location: Bundamba 

Shift: Night Shift

Refresco is seeking an experienced Quality Control Leading Hand to provide leadership in the development and execution of State Technical Standards and drive quality excellence across our plant operations. 

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the site Quality Control function, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. 

About the Role 

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will lead the Quality Control team and ensure all plant activities meet internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations. 

You will play a key role in driving food safety, process compliance, and product quality, while developing team capability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Lead the development and implementation of plant technical policies and processing parameters 


• Ensure effective execution of company procedures at site level 


• Direct and lead the Plant Food Safety Team 


• Manage and develop the Quality Control team, including 24/7 roster coverage 


• Provide training and ongoing capability development for team members 


• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements 


• Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions 


• Analyse trends and report on performance to support continuous improvement 


• Review supplier performance as required 


• Collaborate with the National Technical Team 


• Support Production and Engineering teams with quality-related matters 

About You 

To be successful in this role, you will bring: 

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Food & Beverage industry 


• Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline 


• Strong knowledge of Quality & Environmental Management Systems and Food Safety standards 


• Proven ability to implement procedures and drive corrective actions 


• Experience leading or mentoring teams in a manufacturing environment 


• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills 


• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) 


• A proactive approach with a strong commitment to continuous improvement
