Quality Assurance/Compliance Officer/Trainer/Coordinator role

Casual 10-15 hours per week, flexible days and hours as agreed, Monday to Friday $50 per hour

Below are the roles I would like a Quality Assurance Compliance Officer / Trainer to provide:

  1. Developing and implementing compliance programs: to create and maintain compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure our organization meets all regulatory requirements.
  2. Monitoring and auditing: To conduct regular audits and assessments to identify any areas of non-compliance and develop strategies to address them.
    • Maintaining a monthly audit calendar and conducting internal audits/surveys to ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures, NDIS practice standards and WorkSafe OH&S regulations.   
    • Maintaining registers for incidents and feedback and liaise with manager and coordinator of respective divisions for follow up and resolution.
    • Schedule meetings and prepare communications relating to quality and compliance.
    • Collaborate with the manager to collate and analyse monthly statistics.
    • Collating and analysing monthly statistics and reports relating to client/staff feedback on matters of quality and compliance.
  3. Training and education: To provide training to staff members to ensure they understand their compliance obligations and are equipped to meet them.
  4. Reporting and documentation: To prepare reports and maintain accurate records of compliance activities, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
  5. Risk assessment and management: To identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring our organization operates in a compliant and ethical manner.
  6. Liaising with regulatory bodies: To act as a point of contact for regulatory bodies, responding to inquiries, providing information, and participating in inspections or audits.
  7. Continuous improvement: To regularly review and update compliance processes and procedures to ensure they align with changing regulations and industry best practices.
  8. Conducting training session/programs: To deliver and develop programs with the instruction and in conjunction with the Positive Behaviour Therapist specific to Autism / Challenging Behaviours, Behaviour Management, and the appropriate use of Restrictive Practices. These programs should align with NDIS guidelines and best practices.
  9. To deliver training sessions to staff members, ensuring they have a thorough understanding of Autism, Behaviour Management Strategies, and the ethical and legal use of Restrictive Practices.
  10. To participate in staff performance reviews.
  11. To participate in interviewing and recruitment.
  12. Complete individualised care plans.
  13. Individualized training plans: To assess the specific needs of staff members and develop individualized training plans to address any knowledge gaps or skill deficiencies.
  14. Providing ongoing support: To offer ongoing support and guidance to staff members, answering questions, providing resources, and assisting with the implementation of Behaviour Management plans.
  15. Monitoring and evaluation: To monitor the effectiveness of the training programs and conduct evaluations to assess staff members' knowledge and skills. This will help identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous learning.
  16. Collaboration with other professionals: To work closely with other professionals, within a Multidisciplined Team, such as Behaviour Analysts, Psychologists, and Speech Therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to supporting individuals with autism and challenging behaviours.
  17. Staying updated on best practices: To stay informed about the latest research, best practices, and guidelines related to autism and behaviour management. This will enable the provision of the most up-to-date and evidence-based training to staff members.
  18. Attend to training and professional development as specified and required.
  19. Conduct internal audits.
  20. Liaise and report to management as arranged with progression and updates.

Requirements

  1. Have relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications in internal auditing, governance, risk management and compliance, business, or related fields.
  2. Have experience in quality improvement, training, clinical performance, compliance and risk assessment.
  3. Have strong time management and problem-solving skills.
  4. Excellent record keeping policy and report writing.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of the NDIS practice standards, safeguarding code of conduct, reportable incidences and audit processes.
  6. Experience using Office 365 and SharePoint required.
