About the role

As part of the Quality, Safety and Risk (QSR) team the role of Quality Safety and Risk Officer works to ensure that HammondCare services have a focus on the quality delivery of care and services and consistently striving for the improvement of care, service and staff safety.

This position works closely with the residential services to ensure that our services are aligned with HammondCare’s philosophy, models of care and support the achievement of the service’s goals and aims. It provides leadership for the support for the core business and the service delivery of the organisation.

This permanent part-time role is based a Scone and has flexibility to be either 3 or 4 days per week. Workload will be adjusted accordingly.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Supporting our services in understanding the effectiveness of the operations of their services, alignment with the Mission and Mission in Action and the ongoing trends
  • Maintaining relationships with the services that encourage service management and staff to escalate concerns and a willingness to work with QSR on innovation and improvement
  • Maintaining a customer focus approach and engage stakeholders at every level, ensuring their understanding and support for the organisation’s ongoing commitment to quality improvement
  • Undertaking investigation, reviews and audits as scheduled or triggered by changes in service delivery or as requested by the Residential Quality, Safety and Risk Manager
  • Monitoring and analysing data in relation to incidents, feedback and quality activities to support services to make information decisions and have an understanding of the trends occurring within their service
  • Escalating concerns or sentinel events to the Quality, Safety and Risk Head of Region
  • Supporting and assisting services to identify and implement quality improvement projects based on feedback and audit results
  • Supporting services in meeting the requirements of any external regulatory reviews or other external visits and provide onsite support during these events

About You

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
  • At least 2 year’s demonstrated experience as a carer or AIN in the Aged Care sector with a passion for demonstrating high quality standards
  • Experience and knowledge of Health and/or Residential Aged Care, continuous improvement, quality management and accreditation standards and processes
  • Strong interpersonal, communication & written skills
  • Strong administrative and computer skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and achieve results
