SBC is seeking to engage an experienced Quarry Purchasing Officer to take on a key role within the Operations & Purchasing function. 

The Quarry Purchasing Officer position is a key role responsible for ordering, forecasting & allocating of all concrete and crushed rock orders to project sites, in addition to following up bookings / orders and allocating deliveries to maximize the efficiency and utilization of both materials and trucks.

Key responsibilities include:

• Place daily orders for all concrete & crushed rock requirements
• Forecast concrete & crushed rock requirements for all projects
• Determine and arrange daily schedule of orders by project site according to volume requirements 
• Allocate quarry materials to project sites
• Follow up on bookings / orders daily
• Adjust orders and allocation as required 
• Assist staff on site & the project team with all quarry orders
• Liaise with external stakeholders (suppliers)
• Liaise with internal stakeholders including Area Managers, Site Foremen and Project Managers
• Provide excellent customer service while taking orders 
• Recording information and data according to SBC’s standards 
• Create purchase orders in the system (Cheops) daily for confirmed orders
• Manually allocate / code supplier invoices (where required) 
• Validate supplier invoices for pricing
• Liaise with suppliers to address incorrect invoices and credit notes

You will have sufficient experience in the civil / greenfield construction sector to have an immediate impact in the role, be reliable, with a strong work ethic and continuous improvement mindset.
