Job Description

This is an exciting dual role which includes delivering both Ramp Officer and Customer Service and services on behalf of Star Aviation to Airline customers! The sucessful candidate for this role would need to pass a pre-employment medical and be able to begin training and employment from Monday 1st July. As the ‘face of the company’ to clients and passengers, you will put safety and the customers’ needs at the heart of all required tasks.
Working as part of our Albury team, you'll be an important part of each passenger's experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ramp Officer Duties:
    • Perform Ramp functions including marshalling aircraft on the ramp (e.g. directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing and towed aircraft)
    • Transfer cargo (including luggage) to other gates, other airlines and to passengers
    • Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage, airfreight and company material; continuous lifting, loading/unloading, sorting and transfer of baggage, freight and company material.
    • Ensure compliance with all Uniform & PPE requirements Management of GSE
    • Ensure the safe and secure operation of all equipment.
    • Test all relevant equipment for serviceability before commencement of every shift. 
  • Customer Service Officer Duties:
    • Deliver check in services on behalf of Star Aviation and its Airline customers 
    • Ensure you operate in a safe environment and demonstrate a clear understanding of the Health and Safety policies and procedures
    • Politely welcome passengers as they arrive at the terminal counter
    • Compare information on tickets with passenger data to ensure it all matches and is correct (including any visa documentation that may be required)
    • Educate passengers about airport security protocols and luggage allowances
    • Safely direct passengers to the correct gate for their flight
    • Represent both the Airline and Star to the highest-level ensuring customer satisfaction
    • Perform boarding gate duties including public announcements as per our client’s requirements
    • Complete passenger marshalling duties maintaining a safe and secure environment as per our client’s requirements
    • Provide baggage handling services
    • Liaise with passengers regarding missing baggage
    • Action basic administration duties

  • A valid Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) - or ability to obtain one
