Your opportunity

We have a permanent full-time opportunity within our Records Management team for an experienced Records Manager who will provide leadership and direction in the management and delivery of Queensland Rail's records management function, that meets our legislative obligations and supports our internal and external customers.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the Records Management team to foster a safe, customer-focused, and high-performing work environment by overseeing team performance, supporting professional development, and ensuring the delivery of best-practice, compliant records management services.


• Provide expert records management advice across the business, including guidance on Queensland Rail’s records management obligations, system administration and governance, legislative compliance requirements, and the delivery of staff training and education.


• Develop, implement, and review records management frameworks, strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with Queensland State Archives legislation and organisational requirements.


• Establish and maintain effective partnerships with third-party storage providers, managing service delivery, performance monitoring, reporting, and contractual obligations to meet customer expectations and business needs.


• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying, evaluating, and implementing technology solutions that enhance records management capabilities, while actively contributing to projects and engaging with key stakeholders across the organisation.


• Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required to support evolving business priorities and operational requirements.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a starting salary of $151,359 based in Brisbane CBD, offering hybrid work options and 12.75% superannuation to support a healthy work-life balance. 

What we’re looking for

•  Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing a professional records management team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring the delivery of quality, customer-focused services.


• Extensive knowledge of contemporary Information and Records Management practices, with proven experience managing information governance and records management functions within a large, complex organisation.


• Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence outcomes across all levels of an organisation.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to rapidly assess issues, identify risks and opportunities, and implement practical, effective solutions.
